What is Cobb Can Move?
Cobb Can Move is a survival horror game where the rules change. It was built by the indie developer abho in roughly a week for Major Jam 7: Wild — a game jam it went on to win — and has been updated steadily ever since.
You play a lone warden trapped in a dark, procedurally generated dungeon. Somewhere in that dungeon is Cobb: a long-armed red creature that hunts you in the black. Each level is a race — you scavenge for coal and burn it to keep rooms lit (Cobb fears the light), flip breakers to open your escape route, and slip past Cobb to the exit before it reaches you.
It is a top-down, pixel-art roguelite: short, sharp, and genuinely tense. The Story campaign runs seven levels and most runs are over in minutes — but few of them end well. With a 4.7-star rating from hundreds of players, it has become one of the standout free horror games on itch.io.
